Janusz,
They aren't mine but my good friend Henning's. I think he bought them in one of the Danish shops Korsholm or Go Fishing. I can't find them in any of their web shops, so you might have to contact them directly.
Searching the web helped little. Ferrule and brush is a very common combination... for brushes - makeup, paint etc, but not easily found for fly rod accessories.
Maybe oversize pipe cleaners will do the job? I also found some by searching eBay for "big pipe cleaners". 4-6-10mm diameter would make a nice set for most rods. You typically get 20 or 30 for less than 5 USD. A small DIY-project maybe?

For the Orvis knot lovers...I have also used the Orvis knot when attaching leader to tippet, aligning the leader and tippet in the same manner illustrated above surgeon's knot then tying the Orvis knot.
John,
It might be a question of taste, but I certainly think that the computer illustrations do a great job - at least as good as photos when it comes to showing details and tying. The might not be as "charming" as high end photos, but they do very well as illustrations and are very consistent, making comparisons easy. I wouldn't be deterred. You can see examples in the reviews of the earlier books, and I will scan a page of the new one and add to the review.

I have always been tempted to pick up mr. mann's books, but I was put-off by the fact that it is illustrated and not photos. Should I not let this bother me?

We have had a lot of rain this June and the streams are often cloudy on a good day. This has been THEE killer pattern ! Thank you. PS even just using a brown permanent marker near the bead has been successful.
Bob,
Of course you can link to our pages - we actually encourage you to do so. What we don't want is people integrating our graphics on their own pages, served from our server with no permission or credits.

Tuffleye FLEX...the "next generation"...
'Slightly thicker consistency than the FINISH...thinner than the CORE...same BlueLight cure...
The biggest difference is the semi-soft gummy bear like final product which seems to be more durable and shatter resistant...
No smell / No mixing / I like it...A LOT!
Here's my first few PhlexPhlyz...'look similar to the others but the crystal body is 100% FLEX and feels like cured silicone cauking...

Yes, we can!
Well, I need to cancel a nice date with Megan Fox at Coyote Uglyôs for that, but so what. Nothing beats a couple of days on the coast, stalking with good fellows for some real sweeties. Thankôs Martin, Iôm in as well.

Hi folks,
I plan to arrive to Denmark around Sept. 15th, leaving to Germany on the 21st. So I am in as well - some time already blocked for FISHING I never want to give free again...
I believe the idea simply to book with short notice one or two houses seems to be relatively worry free and easy as well.
Are there alredy some intentions towards soem specific areas at Fyn?
Rgds,
Ole
Hi Martin,
Where did you get this ferrule plugs? I've been looking for this for a while but they seem to unavailable in fishing stores.
Regards,
Janusz
Hi Martin,
thanks for arranging this ! my plan is stay for a few days - the whole week if possible...
Kai- do you have any fixed dates planned ?
I look forward to seeing all of you there.
Regards,
Ruan.
well done. I plan to tie a few of the different versions to try in Texas on bass and blue gill.
We don't have the trout so much here. The water gets too warm and the ox level drops in the summer months.
Thanks
I might have come across as overly disappointed, that isn't the case. I like the DVD, unfortunately I can't find the disc anymore, I only have the case :-(. As Martin says, they do catch a lot of fish on mouse imitations in the movie, and I certainly wasn't expecting (or wanted) a how to guide to tie or fish them.
- But yes, I was actually expecting more night action. I personally, got the impression that the goal was to catch them at night, but I saw very little of that.
Btw. Here's another trailer (if the system will let me include the link): www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSp3nwVltmM
Like Jack I'm going to be on Oahu in August (on my way to Christmas Island) - is the bonefishing any good at this time of year?
1st fly i ever tyed. brown in color. looked ugly, BUT i used this very fly in california, in the western foot hills and limited out in 30 minutes.(5 fish) Yes i am a believer.
Great article. I've always used a whip finishing tool. I tried the above method, and after a couple of tries I made perfect knots! Thank you!
If you still have problems:
1. Make sure there is no twist in the thread. If there is, the loop will knot up.
2. Make sure you have a finger on the turns, when you pull the thread.
3. Make sure you keep some tension on the loop, when you pull the thread.
[quote:b9b2af1b97="t.z."]Who's "professional" enough to bring a camera should be able to bring a net as well and handle such a fish with respect. Sorry, I find this clip and the shown behaviour more than disgusting. Just plain embarrassment towards such a fine creature. Were they drunk?

i completely agree...
http://translate.google.com/ serves well...at least for me:)
I fish the rivers Coquet and Tyne in England and caught numberous Brown Trout, and that looks like a Brownie trying to get over shallows or feeding on a hatched insect
Johan and others,
The book was published more than 10 years ago, and as you can see for yourself by visiting the publisher's web site, the book is no longer listed.
But did you do a simple search for the title on Google or on Amazon? Because such searches work wonders! We can warmly recommend trying them...
Lo and behold, there it is! Right there on Amazon, used and at a horrendous price - but there.
Martin
Jann's Netcraft has a pdf for download that settles the issue of real world hook sizes. Anybody that wants to argue can take it up with an ages old supplier of all things fishing.
… I have a small favor to ask.
Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.
The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
