James,
I am certainly no expert! So I won't email you...
But in my own experience the best chickens we had were slaughtered in the late summer when they had grown to almost full size. We had a year with several Orpington roosters (we were not allowed to have roosters in our neighborhood), and these were slaughtered about the time when they started being noisy (very noisy!).
Industrial chickens live as short as 30-40 days before slaughter, but my guess is that ours were more like 100 day old when we ate them. And they were certainly the best chickens I ever tasted!
We have also eaten a whole lot of the older egg laying hens, several years old. They were nowhere near as tender, some of them only suited for soup! But if my memory serves me right, even the older Oprington hens were delicious. They are very meaty birds.
As I said: I'm no expert, so use this information as you please.

I need to know the best time to slaughter Buff Orpingtons for their meat. Only email if you are an expert on this field. I want to know when they are tenderest.

Hi guys,
I find it helpful if you include a list of materials and recommended hook pattern etc. This is a really good looking pattern and you've put it together in a way I haven't seen before.

Walter, I'm no computer genius, but when I open the PDF file, and go to tools, and then zoom, even with my poor eye sight its readable.

Walter,
Since the charts are made as PDF-files, you can just zoom in. Your PDF-reader has a zoom function, and you can get the fonts (almost) as big as you want. If you print the, well, you either have to get some bigger paper or use several sheet. The wide spreadsheets simply won't fit if the font gets too large.

When the type is too small to read .. the chart is USELESS!

Well, I've tried zipcast for a couple of months. I hate taking time to clean the line so was looking for something easy, fast and good. It definitely is a great way to clean the line. One pass on a relatively clean line does the trick. A few passes on a dirty line quickly does the trick too. I'm using SA Mastery and SA Supreme. However, honestly, I think other products dress the line better in terms of flotation and lubrication. The upside is that zipcast leaves no residue at all, which some of the other products do.

I only want to purchase very lightweight tips, not all the parts of the rod, for construction of lizard catchers. Is it possibe to only buy the lightest two sections for my unique needs?

Braidedbutt,
Unless you have some pretty stiff feathers or use some with thick stems (large feathers), I think you will find it difficult to get the stems of the wings through the foam without needle.

Pardon my ignorance but can someone explain the significance in the nedle in the application of the wings to the fly.My education must be incomplete!

How did you tie in the glass eyes on the yellow foam fly for panfish?
Great looking fly. Thanks for sharing.

JAS;
Of course we usually include web sites and stores! What good would a review be without?
But as you obviously haven't noticed the fact box reads: "SmartFisher.com has closed and we can find no references to Roland or his products any more." and the article ends with the words "You used to be able to see videos, instructions on usage, a model for spinning gear and accessories on the product homepage SmartFisher.com, but this site has disappeared."
I have no idea whether the Smart Spooler is available anywhere anymore, but my guess is that it has been discontinued.

Would be nice if you included the url or website of stores where the Smart Spooler can be purchased. Is this item still available? . Google search came up empty. Would be too bad if it is no longer available. Looks like something I could really use..
- a better e-mail address is jack.a.sharp@us.army.mil, but your automated form will NOT accept it.
