I would like to sell

I would like to sell deer hair, but have no idea what it is worth or how to go about it. Any ideas?

No it has no apron, and yes the line tangled a lot the first time I used it!

But my plan is to mount a line tray on the side rather than an apron. Since I sit quite high, there is really nowhere to attach and apron, but a shallow tray will easily attach to the large pad of Velcro sewn on the pontoons. It will be right under my stripping arm.
I will also add some storage (it comes with some large pockets also attachable to the Velcro) and I will add rod holders - not to mention a place for my dog! He was going completely berserk on the bank while I was sailing and wanted soooo much to come with me.

I did not mean to offend you!

But I was just surprised by the conclusion, because changing density would mean that weight had to be taken away or added while the volume staid the same... not a likely scenario. The net result is that the sinking or intermediate line can sometimes float after a treatment, and that you have to be aware of that.

Congrets with your pontoon boat, it is a logic decision considering the situation.
Does it also comes with a stripping apron? It's not in the pictures.
Believe me, you really want to have one on a pontoon boat, youre line will get tangled up constantly otherwise.

I would be surprised if the dressing changes the density of the line.
It's more likely that the dressing forms a water repellent layer, which makes the line float. You can get the same effect using Mucelin or an other type of floatant on the line.

I have tried several

I have tried several brands for cleaning and dressing the lines - whitout being impressed - almost giving up 3 years ago I tried Scientific Anglers "Fly line Dressing" with really impressive results. Just - dont use it on intermediate or sinking lines - as it has a severe impact on the density. (I haven't tried any of the other products mentioned here so this comment does not represent a a comparison to the mentioned brands).

I tried Armor All wi

I tried Armor All wipes to clean 3 flylines for the first time today because I couldn't be bothered a) waiting for propietary fly line cleaner to arrive in the mail b) paying the $7-$10 - not including postage- that it costs to get it. I have to say the Armor all certainly did a good job of getting the muck off and the line felt a lot slicker once I was done. The true test will be to see how it fishes...For those who are concerned about damage to the line etc, my gut feeling is that by the time you've finished the residual amount on the line is probably so small that it most likely won't hurt anything. Could always be proven wrong, however....

I've been looking fo

I've been looking forward to trying this method and finally did try it recently. It was a complete failure...my own fault no doubt. I used a bubble float from Cabelas. The tube in the center tapers from wide to narrow. I was not sure which end should be nearest the swivel. A customer review from a buyer at Cabelas (on line) said the wide end should be nearest the swivel. I guess the swivel I used was too small because it ended up being jammed 1/2 way down the center tube, then the line was cut on the sharp edge of the plastic tube. I guess the 'tube pearl' was needed....Dohh! What is a 'Tube Pearl"? I assume it is something that stops the swivel and protects the line from severing and having a failure as I had. I could not find the term 'Tube Pearl' anywhere. Do you know which end should be used and why? I have some colored beads that I occasionally use on a Texas type rig. Should I used one of these? Even these don't seem completely safe. The small holes on the beads are relatively sharp and may cut the knot as well, it seems. A more complete explanation would be greatly appreciated. I understand the idea. I just don't understand the mechanics. Thank you very much.

I haven't seen nice royalty free-fly fishing graphics. The best ones are the Dave Whitlock drawings, I guess he sells them by email.
