Hi Vanuz,
Your right...DistantStreams is down and off line for good. Contacting me there would of been fruitless but the guidesyndciate address works, that I can guarantee. Try it again: admin@guidesyndicate.com or my personal email: ripleydavenport@email.com
So, your interested in Lithuania? If you still are, then let me know your intentions. We are (as always) going over to visit family very soon and later in the year but I am flexible with dates. I have already been over twice and I feel the pull again.
Finland?
Unfortunately, there are many formalities to get in order and Fly Fishing Team Denmark were unable to meet the deadlines for this years World FF competition.
A couple of the teams members had babies due and work held others up but plans look set for next years event in New Zealand but that's a long way off and much could change.
Your pictures are very nice. Lovely scenery. Slovakia seems very inviting.
Good to be in conatct again Vanuz

Hi Martin, congratulations for the fly.
Look my "Chernobyl Ant Tube Fly"

I think the man in the back of the picture is nothing to brag about, picture could have been rated Global Class if he was not in the picture.

The article is great and shows that the "correct behaviour" seldom is how the fish really behave.
The movie is great and it adds a new dimension to the gff, now there is words, pictures, podcasts and movies to educate and entertain readers.
Great work!

Anyway, how are you Vanuz?
Long time no hear. Hows the fishing been treating you?
[/quote:725923eae2]
yep, youôre right. I have tried to reach you at your old distantstream email address, but it seemed to be down.... then I tried your new "syndicate" page, no luck again, so I have just given up :?
Iôve been mostly fishing in Slovakia this spring (to many business trips there). I fished rivers and trout lakes and cannot complain, but no evidence, though - did not have my camera on me :)
....just been making plans for upcoming period, thatôs why I tried contacting you regarding Lithuania trip.
How about your invasion to Finland? :D
EDIT: I have just found some photos to illustrate how picturesque our country is :)

You are so right about this video. It's all about mr Krieger. His audience sits in speechless adaration before him. It seems no one else has the ability to say anything worthwile about flyfishing.
However, I visited some of those wonderfull places: stunning, he certainly picked the right places to flyfish!!

Bob,
Well you sure are in the royalty regarding tube flies, and in my opinion you have broken the barrier several times with your stuff. Need I mention one of the first patterns ever contributed to this site or your entry in our fly tying contest back when?

Whoa,
I'm especially impressed by the video!
It's the best I've seen for a long time and watched it again and again.
At least I showed it to my daughter and it helps her to improve her swimming skills, too.
Thanks Martin and I hope there's another GFF-summit this year!

I have been considering buying that same rod as well, the action feels kinda' nice in the store. But I never got around to taking one home, maybe now I will, if they have one in my local store.
If you are wondering how the kit performs, one of the best casters I know have posted a youtube clip showing how well it performs (in the right hands ;) ): youtube.com/watch?v=Xu3D0C1jB2c

Alex,
The "filter" is really an action and you need to start Photoshop, go to the actions palette or toolbox and select Load Actions from the menu. Locate the *.atn file, which you unzipped and load it and you can now realease it on any image by clicking on it and pressing the play button in the actions toolbox.
Martin
The thousands of fishing experiences and photographs I have hold distant vivid memories but rarely can you reflect and look back and see the time in detail as if it were happening right there and then.
This night will be one of the memories I will take to my grave. I laughed so hard it hurt and it's been many years since I laughed as I did.
That was fishing. It may not of held great quantity (size of fish) but the quality was defiantely there.
I also feel naked without my hat on!!!!

Hi Martin,

Thanks a lot !
This pattern is really well compared to some of the stoneflies I've seen in Canadian waters.
Thank you.

Ripley,
Good to have you posting again, and really nice to see some fish and hear that you and Steve had some good fishing. Amazing how the salt keeps on fishing well in spite of the heat and bright sunny days.
