All people participating in the first GFF Summit,

Thanks for making this a great event! I had a great time meeting anf fishing with all of you, and it was my impression that you all enjoyed the arrangement.

We had great success with the fishing - not least thanks to Ripley's guiding and his and Steve's "test fishing" Friday (never again will we allow them a jump start!)

Expect this to be an anually recurring event and make sure that you mentally book a few days next year. We have not set anything firm yet regarding time and place, but I will announce something ASAP.

I am currently working my way through tonnes of pictures, and if any of the participants have any they want to share, please send them to me attached to an email (preferably the original or in a good quality).

I will compile an article as soon as I get the time and let you all sneak preview it before it goes online.

Excellent Weekend!

What a excellent weekened ! Great company and of course great fishing. I caught lots of seatrout over the 3 days with my largest being 65cm. You will have to wait for the picture until martin submits the photos and articles on the weekend.

I wish to thank Martin for organising this great weekend and getting us fluff chuckers together. :D

It just can't have been better, event though I failed completely on Saturday. Fortunately, friday and sunday gave 3 seatrouts and some baby garfish. A very nice bunch of people, good weather and food. :D

Hope the fish-in went well. I tried to catch sea-trout at Gilleleje in August but too hot. A 9 kilo sea-trout came out of the Gudena on a night I was there but not to me. Ah well!

Hi,

Well, I know my views will be the scratch on a surface yet to form, but the GFF summit was incredible.

In total we estimate about 70+ sea trout taken between Friday and Sunday. About 30 to be averaging 55cm. The largest fish, 6 in all, were topping 65cm+

You'll have to wait for the pictures. Martin is compiling an article you'll be pulling your hair out at - especially for those that didn't attend!

The GFF summit was a truly unique event complimented by good sea trout weather, surroundings, sea trout and more over...a bunch of guys that fished hard and were rewarded the fruits of the Danish salt. Friendships were formed and a new cult is underway...GFF summit has been born.

Next year the GFF summit 2007 location is being held somewhere exclusive. More later.

In the meantime you'll have to wait for the articles, pictures, stories and guys that made a weekend to remember...and (unfortunately) the next GFF summit 2007.

I'd love to post a picture but.......Wait and see.

Bennechi 12/0 comes

Bennechi 12/0 comes in many diffrent colors. I would never use a waxed thread or wax in my flytying. Wax will melt if it's a hot day and then could the dubbing fal of the fly and even worse the colors could blend into each other.
There is also another thread i like, gordon griffiths 14/0, only one thing bad with that thread, it's sometimes badly wounded on to the spol.

Add true control to

Add true control to this entire project with a home made speed control. Rapid-speed blank whipping is the last thing you want.. but the first thing you'll get with the average hand drill, so here's an easy fix. For less than ten bucks go to your HD or Lowes and buy a lighting dimmer switch just like the one in your dining room (push = on/off, twist to dim). Buy a plastic single gang switch box and an extenstion cord (the cord should be the same size and durability as the cord on your drill). Take the extenstion cord and cut it in half. Insert the cut end of the pronged piece into the switch box and wire it as the source of power to the dimmer. Insert the cut end of the outlet piece into the switch box and wire it to the dimmer as the output (normally goes to your dining room lighting). Secure the dimmer in the PVC electrical switch box, add a switch cover for style and safety AND YOU'RE DONE. Set the dimmer gizmo next to your lathe widgit, plug your drill into the dimmer with the drill switch-lock ON. Tap the dimmer to life and slowly turn up the juice till you are comfortable with the speed. It is also is a great panic button to stop things NOW if something goes wrong. BONUS: Its also a speed control for your wrapper or dryer if you are just a beginner without a lot of different high end motors. Thats a Wrap., dave w

Nice website the best trout fly I ever used was the "usual" first tied by Fran Betters and popularized by Bill Phillips, who fished it almost exclusively for twenty years. It was my good fortune to fish with Bill for around ten years. He was the best fisherman I ever met, A college professor and scientist his mind was constantly thinking of why certain flies were better than others and what makes a Trout tick. If you contact me I will be glasd to tie a "usual" that you may use it or include it in your collection. I have a size eighteen that I caught forty three fish on mounted in my diary.

I have used Pharnaci

I have used Pharnacist fly tying cement for probably thirty years. I have used other brands
on occasion but still have a few drops left in one bottle plus a bottle I have never opened.
I am currently eighty years young and have wondered what ever happened to Pharmacist
Formula. The only conlusion was that the fly shops would go broke if they ever sold it, as
it never evaporates, What a pity.

Been tying for almos

Been tying for almost sixty years now and I must say this is the very first article that explains ever detail of the tying procedure and the tips are excellent. I have another class starting next week and I will guarantee each student will review this page before we start on streamers. The photography is so well done I felt like I was actually watching someone tie the fly!
