Well, even though I have a car 24/7, I spent the whole week at work. It is dark already when I am coming back home. Thus, I am also free on weekends only :(
... btw, no problem putting you both in my car and go fishing if you like. I have never fished "a river" in Denmark, and I´d love to...Is there any special day-card needed out at Tryggevælde River? I am based in Hellerup.

Hi Vanuz, my fishing opportunities are fairly limited as I only have access of a car on weekends sometimes and the primary purpose of my visit here is to spend time with girlfriend. :oops: Last Sunday was our first trip out at Tryggevælde River (that's basically where we fish most of the time, as we do not know many spots). perch

I am using any shiny or red coloured streamers, preferably with a golden head. Perch is my favourite species, it is by no means a fastidious fish, it basicaly grabs anything that moves! You just need to find the spot. I wish I could take to one of my favorite perch lake near CPH, hovewer, the season is over. Where have you been fishing these days?

it may turn, if the legs are too long. The weight on the hook shank is added to prevent turning and keeping the right position. The ones I have tied lately works perfectly well.

Thank you for this pattern. I heard some great stories of this fly. But does this pattern turn hook down? Or does the bunch of Antennas prevent this turning? That's one of mine main problems with a lot of shrimp patterns, they always turn back down and that is not so realitstic. Greetings from Holland and hope to see you along the Dannish coast. Igmar

Try slicing your foa

Try slicing your foam with a paper slicer - photo-cutter - "precision cutter". It works a treat, is quick and accurate.

The Honey Shrimp and eyes articles (and the Mysis Shrimp) are superb, thank you. Have just made myself a little drying rack for painted eye-stalks - and for the epoxied eyes when I get that far. Just a small piece of wood with two lines of holes 1.5mm diameter. Works a treat. Dip each stalk-end in the paint and pop it in the rack to dry. 14 eyes all looking at me - scary!

Thanks for the great article Kasper, I also received a dark honey from Jesper at the GFF and was reluctant to use it (didnt want it lost), but on my last trip on the Danish coast I pulled it out of my fly box to give it a spin. As the first fish took my fly, I was not prepared, and my rod flew out of my hands from the very hard take, after a quick swim for my 900 $ outfit and landing that, plus 7 other fish that day I became a true fan of the honey shrimp. Now my fly box is full of them.

Hi Kasper, good stuff. Any fly needs its eyes to see, of course :))) I intend to experiment with some epoxy material also, what exactly was the material you have used? ....just to make sure I´ll ask for the right thing when shopping in danish fishing shops :)

Shrimps

Fantastic pattern!
Stick with them. Don't use any other pattern..!

I use shrimps about 90% of the time. They are a sure winner.
Tie them off on hook sizes 8 and 6. Singles of course!

I have seen a straw shrimp sometime ago, can't remember where. May of been Paul Arden at Sexyloops...?

Remember: what sea trout eat? SHRIMPS, ragworm, sand ticks and small fry.
