You will need to bring bed linen and a pillow case. The Hostel provides duvets/blankets and does NOT allow sleeping bags! You also need to bring towels yourself.
[/quote:97d85f80b6]

Can linen/towels be rented at the hostel?

If anybody wants to share their cell phone number, please forward it to me and I will compile and distribute a list.

For the keen Meteorologists, you can check the current Danish weather for our location here...

Summary...
I have been following the fishing the last 4 weeks and I have even managed to get in the water myself. It can be compared to the Friday and Saturday of GFF '06 - http://globalflyfisher.com/reports/gffsummit2006/.
There's plenty of fish moving around. Most are deeply coloured but the norm for this time of year.
Fish are picky with full bellies so prepare for time-wasting, fly followers.
One last point: Fish are very close to shore. No need for distance casting or ear deep wading.

I will put up some GFF signs for those first timers driving to Wedellsborg. This will take you to the parking area.

See you by / in the water.

Sounds like a nice trout.

This weekend was put aside to catching some Bleke, but due to the recent rain, the river is very high and virtually unfishable. I've got a local guy that'll guide me to catching this rare fish, so I'm just waiting for the right conditions and time off!

Otherwise I've had some lovely brown trout, though nothing near topping my 3.5kg fish of last year. Have just come home from a lake I haven't fished for about 3 years, and have had some lovely trout. So I can relax a happy man this evening.

Out again tomorrow, to see if I can get some large american brook trout.

Hi Feridun,
I was in Egersund this Summer and fished the Bjerkreimselva River at the mouth of the river. Saw lots of girlse and saw lot of people fishing for them. I was there for a week and saw only one person take a salmon and that was with a worm. I managed to hook up with a Brown trout of about 1 Kg and that was it. I spoke to the bailif ( guy who controls the permits) and his response was that the river was full of fish but none was intreasted. He did mention zone two but I chose to fish the mountain lakes which resulted in a few fish of about 500g and lots of smaller trout.

I have been looking for a good tube tying adapter and it looks like Snowbee do a "universal" version of the tube fly attachment that will fit in an existing vice. Apart form the vice attachment it's apparently the same as the one for the Waldron.

Chris Helm, Toledo OH, may still have Gudebrod thread in his extensive stock of tying materials.

Hi Rolandas,

That sounds great!
I know I'm in safe hands with you guys (especially now, when you'll not be busy straightening out some mess made by your Latvian brothers...).

I'll send you an email soon to work out the details

Cheers,

Hello Everyone,

Well I plan on leaving Leverkusen (Germany) at around 6am.... it is a good 6 or 7 hour drive, so I hope to arrive somewere at around 13:00 (I have never been in Denmark....not even close to be honest, so I hope to meet up with someone who knows their way arround on Friday..)

BTW... I am still looking for someone who wants to Car pool from Germany/Belgium/Netherlands..... it is a very long way to drive alone ....

I am quite flexible when it comes to timing...so if you are interested, give me a shout.

Ruan,

Thanks for the advanced preparations Ripley (especially the preloaded cages).

I will be coming up from south Jutland friday morning, and heading towards Weddelsborg, if anybody needs a lift from that directions, send me a mail.

Look forward to seeing everyone again.

Paul

Again, Wedellsborg has kindly granted the GFF event use of the grounds.
This will be a permanent thing as long as basic rules are followed.

The Wedellsborg grounds are open between 08:00 and 17:30 for GFF '08 participants. [b:a38e7b8d27]Not before then.[/b:a38e7b8d27]

You may only park at the same place as last years event and if you can - share a car, use space to avoid traffic.

Basics...

Do not block any forest track or exit.
Drive slowly.
Make way for all forest traffic.
Treat the forest as if it's your own garden.
Rubbish / litter poeple! Carry it in, carry it out.
Be good people.

Take a camera - The grounds are "choka-blok" with deer, sea eagles, hawks, buzzards, rabbit and other foresty critters.

If asked, you are with the GFF '08 party and permssion is granted by the District Leader and Skovfoged / Forest Ranger KIM BECH. Mention my name also.

Count Wedell will have some royal guest V.I.P's that weekend, so this year we have to display a GFF permission sticker in the car windows for reasons of security.
Cars without one, will be towed of the premises this year.

Martin, has the details about the car stickers or notes - I hope?

I'll be there - as always - 08:00-ish.

Later

Since you got this far …

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
See more details about what you can do to help in this blog post.
